Ruminations on Jena
Installation / Mural
The A Gallery, Seattle
2016
This collaborative installation built from the initial exploration of Joe Wilkinson into the works of German idealist philosopher George Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel in particular, the Philosophy of Spirit. The ceramic pieces (Joe Wilkinson) represent human consciousness and the phenomenological experience which shape it. The linear, geometric mural on the walls explore the macro and micro influences that provide the context in which experience is formed, from the magnetic pull of heavenly bodies moving through space, to the splitting of a cell, all connected and always in motion.
